Getting Started
How to Prompt
Write prompts that get results: describe the goal, attach references, and iterate.
Good prompts are specific, not long. State what you want clearly and let domi handle the craft.
Describe the goal, not the tool
Tell domi the outcome you want, not which model or setting to use. domi picks the right tool for the job.
- ✅ "A clean e-commerce hero image of these sneakers on a white pedestal"
- ❌ "Use gpt-image-2 at 2K to make a picture of shoes"
Three parts of a strong brief
- Subject — what the image is of (a product, a scene, a character)
- Style — the look (photoreal, illustration, minimal, retro)
- Constraints — format, mood, palette, composition, text
A square Instagram cover for a coffee brand, warm earthy palette, hand- lettered title "Mornings," cozy and inviting.
Attach references
Words are often ambiguous. @ an image on your canvas to show domi exactly what you mean — a color palette, a layout, a product to feature. See Using References.
Iterate in small steps
Big changes in one prompt rarely land. Make one change per turn and let domi converge: "warmer tones" → "tighter crop" → "add the brand wordmark."
Let domi plan
For complex briefs, domi may ask a clarifying question or propose a plan before generating. Answer briefly — a sentence is usually enough.
